Michael Angarano looks too young to buy the cigarettes he smokes. And the 22-year-old actor, star of the recent Gentlemen Broncos, admits it’s not just his fresh face that makes him appear underage. “If I wasn’t acting, I’d just be coming out of college,” he says. “I would already have had four years of being on my own, but now I’m kind of just starting.” Anganaro is successfully making the transition from child to adult actor (he’s been working since he was 5, and his re´sume´ includes supporting roles in Almost Famous, Lords of Dogtown and Will & Grace). In his next film, Ceremony, Angarano plays a young Turk intent on destroying an older crush’s wedding (Uma Thurman plays the object of his desire). “It’s a coming-of-age story about a boy realizing he’s a boy,” Angarano says, “Instead of a boy realizing he’s a man.”

Unlike many former child actors, the New York native, who moved to Los Angeles when he was 12 and still lives with his folks, insists his childhood prepared him for a career in Hollywood. “As a kid, I was able to distract myself and not have work take over my life completely,” says Angarano, who found himself splashed across tabloids when he was still dating his ex-girlfriend, actress Kristen Stewart. “If I didn’t have that experience growing up, I don’t know that I would be able to keep work from taking over now.” More Interview here.

Kristen Stewart Puts Michael Angarano Back On The Market — Or So We Think

Although there have been no public statements yet, after KStew and RPattz’ “cozy” Kings of Leon concert “date,” it seems Kristen and longtime boyfriend Michael Angarano are definitely over. The two, who met in 2004 on the set of Sundance film “Speak,” and later started dating, were spotted in Vancouver near the “New Moon” set in April, but since then it has been a summer of Bella and Edward. Kristen even joked to USA Today in April that she thought it would make the “Twilight” fans happy and her more popular if she dated Rob.It looks like Mikey is getting cast aside like Jacob in this scenario, but don’t feel too bad for Brooklyn boy yet. We doubt the 21-year-old indie star of movies like “Lords of Dogtown” (which, oddly enough, happened to be directed by Catherine Hardwicke and costarred Nikki Reed) and “Snow Angels” will be lonely for too long. He has a new movie, “Gentlemen Broncos” (don’t miss the trailer for that comedy), opening at the end of October and he will be starring in Jason Reitman’s “Ceremony.” Until then, you can get your fill of Michael — and check out more photos of him and his maybe-ex — by clicking on the photo below. New ‘Gentlemen Broncos’ Poster & Screen Captures

Fox Searchlight has let us exclusively debut the official poster for Napoleon Dynamite director Jared Hess’ next film Gentlemen Broncos today! Yep, that’s “Flight of the Conchords” star Jemaine Clement above and you’ll also see Michael Angarano below, as he’s actually the lead in this. The trailer debuts tomorrow but I’ve had the chance to see it and I guarantee if you loved Napoleon Dynamite, you’ll love this as well. It looks hilarious and completely original thanks to the crazy, brilliant mind of Jared Hess. All those wacky characters seen along the side of the poster will be explained, but until then, I’ll let them remain a mystery.

Benjamin, home-schooled by his eccentric mother, is a loveable loner whose passion for writing leads him on an offbeat and hilarious journey as his story gets ripped off by the legendary novelist Ronald Chevalier and then is adapted into a disastrous movie by the small town’s most prolific homespun filmmaker.

Gentlemen Broncos is directed by filmmaker Jared Hess, of both Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre previously. The screenplay was co-written by Jared and his wife Jerusha Hess. Fox Searchlight is bringing Gentlemen Broncos to theaters starting on October 30th after its premiere at Fantastic Fest in Austin.
